To educate as many people as possible about the tremendous benefits of the best window film products in the world – 3M Window Films.
Our Education
We can’t educate well unless we ourselves are educated well. We have been very proactive in our continuing education in the window film industry. We are certified Solar Control Film Specialists, and we are the only ones in our area with this certification and only one of five companies in Virginia. This accreditation is earned by passing a very stringent test given by the International Window Film Association. We have attended countless webinars by 3M to have complete knowledge on all of their window film products and new technologies, enabling us to recommend the best solutions for your home or business’ windows. Clear View Window Tinting is the first company in the country that is a 3M Window Film Dealer that has a LEED Green Associate on staff. Ben Hicks who is our VP of Business Development became a LEED Green Associate in August of 2010 so we can better educate architects, contractors, businesses, and home owners about sustainable design and window film.
Our Consultations
The procedure we use for our consultations may be the most important part of the window film process. I can’t tell you the countless times I have seen the wrong film choice applied to a home or business. You want to be able to enjoy your window film every day, and because it lasts so long you want to be completely confident the right window film has been recommended for your situation. Our consultations usually take about one hour, and after we are done you will be completely informed on what film looks like, how each one performs, and the exact cost. I accomplish this by applying actual pieces of the appropriate films for your home or business to the windows you are considering to have filmed. Now you can see exactly what they look like at your home, and many people have me leave them up so they can see what they look like at all times of the day. This will allow you to take all the time you need to pick the film that has the best balance between form and function for your home or business. Our consultations are concise, informative, and free. Please don’t hesitate to schedule one because I love to educate interested people.
Our Installations
We are extremely neat, organized, polite, quiet, and aware of our surroundings. We generally work on one room at a time and we clean as we go. You may easily go about your normal routine while we work. Most installations can be completed in one day. Our installers are well dressed, and are the very best in the area (we use no subcontractors). I have compared our work with other installations from all over the country and I have never seen better. We are professionally trained and always realize it is a privilege to be invited into your home or business to perform an installation.

Job Description:
Ben’s duties are varied but include managing all aspects of commercial marketing and project development. Ben works with architects to assist in specifying films and also assists business owners in addressing their unique design and performance needs. Ben is available to present 3M’s AIA approved educational seminar for 1.5continuing education credits, or he can tailor custom product presentations for those in the building, design, or project management fields. Ben’s an active member of the James River Green Building Council, a chapter of the USGBC. Ben serves on the Governing Council and Co-Chairs the Programs Committee with Charlottesville Branch of the James River Green Building Council.
